Online Joint round table

The online Joint round table Building the Future of Construction: Automation, 3D and Digital Evolution organised on the 6th of November 2020 had a great interest among VET students and learners as well as university students. In total around 110 persons took part at the event! Three great speakers - Leonidas Paterakis from FabLab Venice, Đani Kajtaz, from the American company AVIR and Igor Kulašič from Siemens Slovenia – presented us the possibilities of 3D printing in combination with building automation, trends in luxury homes in the USA and how digitization is changing the sector of construction.

Online Final Conference

More than 130 participants from all over the EU have joined us on the final conference “From Smart Homes to Smart Communities” organised on the 20th of November 2020. Six great speakers have shared their knowledge, experience, ideas and visions - Dimitrios Athanasiou (EC, DG ENER), Michal Postranecky (Postranecky Architect, Czech Republic), Lorenzo Nissim (Institute for BIM, Italy), Franc Bogovič (MEP, Slovenia), Hans Daale (Chain5, Netherlands) and Branko Dvoršak (School centre Velenje, Slovenia). The conference had a wide range of topics from EU policies, the future of cities, digitization in construction, ideas for smart villages, but also recent news and possibilities of the level 5 of the European Qualification Framework as well as experience on how to implement a program of smart homes.

After a bit more than two years, the SHVET project is at its end. It was an interesting journey which resulted in great things!

We have started the project with a comprehensive analysis of employers needs taking into account strategic, analytic and sectorial backgrounds to define the qualification profile of the Expert in Building automation. More than 110 employers from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy were involved in questionnaires, focus groups, workshops and expert groups. After almost 1 year we have defined the qualification profile based on which we have developed national curricula of the Expert in Building Automation and determined which parts of the curricula can be ran jointly. Guidebooks for assessment, recognition of prior knowledge as well as teaching and training materials are essential part for the future implementation by educational providers. It is important to mention that all three curricula are or will be formally verified by the relevant regional or national agencies and ministries and have a green light for its implementation.

In the final stages we have organised four 2-day train the trainer events with participation of more than 50 persons mainly VET teachers and trainers, mentors and company trainers. The feedback was extremely positive especially as we have shared our specific knowledge of building automation in form of theoretical and practical exercises.

The final product was endorsed by business support institutions – 16 chambers of crafts and trades, chambers of economy and specialized association in field of electrotechnics have signed the Memorandum of Understanding giving the joint qualification full support in running the programs after the end of the project lifetime.
